Pastoral assistance to people deprived of liberty in the Santander penitentiary centers was not something sought, but rather arose from the need to respond to the request of the center's own inmates.

Currently in the “El Dueso” Penitentiary Center, both in the men's and women's departments, there is regular assistance with religious services by the pastors of the Nueva Vida Church and volunteers. The activity takes place weekly.

Religious attendance brings with it the hope of God's forgiveness and a new opportunity, a new life.

The essence of the Gospel is based on the belief that God loves men and women above all things. He wants to help them get out of hopelessness, no matter what has been done, God wants to help and forgive. And the decision is each one's to accept or reject this forgiveness.
